Meet Grant
Coming from a generational background of Cooking, Spirits & Wine, Grant started his culinary career early. At the age of 15, Grant became the Garde Manger Chef at Atlantis Restaurant in Greenwich, CT. He continued his culinary career as a Chef at Greenwich Country Club and was then offered a “Stage” at The Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles, CA working under Executive Chef Gary Clausen. There, he trained as Saucier and Grill Chef as well as Apprentice Pastry Chef.
Grant attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration with a Major in Food & amp; Beverage Management and a Minor in Wine as well as attending UNLV’s Hospitality Abroad studying at HIM Lausanne, Neuchâtel and Montreux. After schooling, he because the General Production Manager at La Maree Smokehouse (His Family Business) overseeing the production of award-winning Smoked Seafood, Pates, Wild Game, Caviar and Foie Gras. Grant was offered the Executive Chef Position at the age of 24 at St Tropez Al Fresco Bistro in Vero Beach, FL and brought exciting and unique dishes to the coastal, central Florida area.
A move to the Spirits Industry, in 2005, brought Grant to Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits where he achieved Salesman of the Year in 2008 and his Court of Master Sommeliers, Level 1 Certification and on to State Manager for FL for Tito’s Handmade Vodka. As Tito’s 4 the Salesman in 2010, he helped build Tito’s Handmade Vodka to the level it is today.
In 2020, Grant was brought on as the consultant for the Award Winning brand, Tequila 512, based out of Austin, Tx, and full time in 2021 to manage New Jersey, Florida and Puerto Rico. He quickly realized that building small brands was his forte and he and his partner, Mark Butland formed For Granted Consulting in October of 2023. His relationships with Distributors and Accounts across Florida and beyond has empowered him to help small brands achieve the success that they deserve, especially when bigger brands get all the attention!
Currently residing in West Palm Beach, FL, Grant has easy access to the entire state to service his brands in both the On and Off Premise as well as the Chains. Grant credits his success from working the street, providing value by staying ahead of trends, managing account relationships, communicating with distributor partners, visiting buyers regularly and following up on a daily basis.
